In her role as Group President, Packaging, Carol O’Neill leads efforts to enhance the alignment and capabilities of the five divisions within the BW Packaging Systems Platform: Accraply, BW Flexible Systems, BW Integrated Systems, Pneumatic Scale Angelus and Synerlink. These companies offer a broad range of expertise—from manufacturing, packaging and materials-handling to process optimization, line design and integration—for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and personal care industries, among others.
Drawn to Barry-Wehmiller’s culture and values, Carol joined the organization in 2014 to serve as Vice President of Strategy, Technology and Key Initiatives. In this role, she facilitated the examination of the company’s long-term strategy, and the organizational and technical infrastructure to support this strategy.
Prior to Barry-Wehmiller, Carol developed an impressive background in leadership, manufacturing and packaging, as well as consulting and information technology. After working for a management consulting firm in Boston and leading productivity improvement efforts at the New York City Transit Authority, Carol entered the packaging world as Director of Performance Improvement at Sealed Air. In her 11 years there, she also served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development. Carol left Sealed Air to run a $300 million private food company in Chicago and was enticed back into the packaging industry to run the packaging division at Spartech Corporation (acquired by PolyOne Corporation, now Avient, in 2013).
Carol has a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in international economic development from Stanford University.
